For Cynthia, photography has been her passion
since she shot her first photo of her dog more than 30
years ago and she still has that
first photo. It’s a treasured moment in time that was captured on
a specific and special day. It will be a memory for many more years
to come. Her photojournalistic approach is to preserve memories of
your wedding that will last a lifetime, just as she has done with
her own personal photos.
For Cynthia, photography is all about capturing
that one moment in time that can be
relived over and over when the photo is seen by the bride, groom,
family and friends.
After shooting her first wedding she entered
just one photo into a state wide
photography competition.
She won in that competition,
because of the moment and emotion that was captured as the groom
picked up his bride and carried her down the aisle.
It was a spur of the moment gesture by the groom and this
moment in time can be relived every time the couple looks at the
photo.
This
husband and wife team offer world
class photography with a wonderful
mix of documentary, photojournalism
and traditional
images that captures every nuance, detail and emotion of your
wedding day. They take pride in their work and customize each
wedding to the couple’s individual wants and needs.
Cynthia
and Gary want you to relax, have
fun, enjoy your guests and know
your day is being fully documented.
We can provide full-day
coverage for every wedding. Rather
than concentrate on time limits and other restrictions we focus on
getting to know you and your wedding. We are here to work with you
to provide images that you will treasure for a lifetime.
At
the end of the day you will receive a collection of images that
really tell the story
of your day, from small details to big views.
Let us preserve the memories of your special day as we
combine a photojournalistic approach with traditional styles to give
you an album that captures the magic of your wedding day.
Every year, Cynthia & Gary attend
seminars and conferences to bring
back fresh new ideas
to their clients. They also believe in giving
back to the community and offer
their services to local churches and civic groups that can use their
photos to help with the financial needs of the organization.
In conclusion, you make the memories. We just record them to
last a lifetime.

Lately the buzz word in Wedding Photography
has been a “photojournalistic style”.
Many photographers have been switching to this type of
photography in recent years.
Gary
does not have to. Except
for a few years here and there,
Gary
has been a photojournalist for over 25 years.
He received his first camera two months after
graduating High School and within 3 months was working for the local
daily newspaper as a part-time photographer.
He left photojournalism to become trained as a portrait
photographer. After
several years, he decided that it was time to serve his country and
enlisted in the United States Army.
He left the military with the intention of
going to college, completing a degree and returning to the military
as an officer. But while
in college, he decided to try his hand at being a television sports
videographer. He enjoyed
it and even helped his station win an Emmy
for Television News.
But his love for photography won out and he has been a
photojournalist ever since. He
has covered local, regional, national and international news and
sporting events around the country.
From the sidelines of NCAA
Football Championships to courtside
at the to the
fairways of the U.S. Open,
Gary
has constantly had a keen eye for getting the right shot and for
delivering under pressure.
He brings this training to his wedding business, where he is
continually in the right spot to get that elusive picture of
something that no one knew happened until they see it in a gallery.
Gary's pictures have been published
around the world in newspapers and magazines such as the Richmond
Times-Dispatch, USA Today, Los Angeles Times, New York Daily News,
the New Zealand News Agency, Associated Press and Sports Illustrated.
Besides working for news publications,
Gary
also works for several local colleges and universities, including VCU,
Hampden-Sydney, Longwood and
Norfolk
State
. When there is a
sporting event in the area that someone wants covered,
Gary
is probably there.
Gary and Cynthia want to combine their love of photography and
travel and want to someday publish a book of their travels.
If you are looking for a “true” photojournalist to capture
your wedding day, then Dominion Photography is who you want there.
Thanks for stopping by.
